For over 30 years our mom’s recipe has been at the center of gatherings, celebrations, and cherished memories. What started in our mother’s kitchen as “spicy pretzels” quickly became a family favorite, bringing warmth and connection to every occasion. Whether shared at holiday parties or sent in care packages while Alex or his brothers were away playing hockey, these pretzels always delivered the comforting feeling of home.
Alex Koumontzis, founder and CEO of Hot Twists began his entrepreneurial journey early. Shortly after graduating high school Alex launched his first business, which eventually funded the purchase of his first investment property at 22. His drive led to successful ventures in real estate investing and cryptocurrency, but a series of volunteer work trips to Mexico sparked a deeper purpose. In 2023 Alex packed up his belongings and moved to Mexico, where he lived and worked at an orphanage. This experience taught him about life’s true fulfillment coming from the meaningful connections we have and shared moments we create with others. A line up of boldly spiced snacks crafted to bring people together and create lasting memories. Every batch is made with care to capture the same heartwarming feeling that made them a family tradition for decades.

Marcus Koumontzis began studying business at High Point University, but his true calling led him to pursue his passion for the culinary arts. He redirected his path and enrolled at the prestigious Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, where he sharpened his craft while working at Daniel, one of the world’s most renowned restaurants. After gaining invaluable experience, Marcus returned to Arizona to help launch Hot Twists.
In addition to his work with Hot Twists, Marcus is also a chef at Café Monarch, widely regarded as the best fine dining restaurant in Arizona, where he continues to refine his culinary expertise. At Hot Twists, Marcus leads the charge in all things culinary, from crafting our signature Original Hot Twists hot sauce to driving innovation for our expanding product line of snacks. His creative vision and dedication to bold, exciting flavors are at the heart of everything we do.
